The Laowa 12mm T2.9 Lite Zero-D VV Cine Lens for Sony E / Full-Frame cameras combines an ultra-wide 122° field of view with Laowa’s Zero-D technology, keeping straight lines remarkably well controlled across the frame. It covers both Full Frame and VistaVision sensors with a Ø46.31mm image circle, while the fast T2.9 aperture provides consistent light transmission for cinematic shooting. The compact design also makes the lens well suited to gimbals, drones, handheld rigs, and other lightweight cinema setups.
With a 14cm minimum focusing distance and up to 0.21x magnification, the lens can move extremely close to a subject while retaining its expansive background. This creates a strong sense of depth, particularly for interiors, architecture, landscapes, action sequences, and creative foreground compositions. At the same time, the optical design uses 16 elements in 9 groups and 14 aperture blades to maintain sharpness and smooth rendering across the image.
The cine-oriented housing features a 100° smooth focus throw and standard 0.8 MOD gears on both the focus and aperture rings, allowing straightforward integration with follow-focus systems. The lens also provides dual metric and imperial focus scales, while the 67.5° aperture throw gives precise control during exposure adjustments. For filtration, the 77mm front filter thread allows ND, polarizing .
