A modifier decides what the light actually looks like. The fixture sets the output; the softbox, grid or reflector in front of it sets whether the shadows are hard or soft and how far the light spills.
Bigger and closer is softer — it is the size of the source relative to the subject that decides shadow quality, not the wattage behind it.
It uses the standard Bowens mount, so it fits most studio flashes and COB LED fixtures rather than tying you to one brand.
