The Tilta Camera Cage Base Kit for Canon C50 is a modular rigging solution built around a custom-fit full camera cage for the Canon EOS C50. Constructed from aluminum alloy, SUS304 stainless steel, and silicone, the cage uses a three-point mounting system for a secure connection while allowing the setup to convert into a lighter half-cage configuration. This makes it easier to adapt the C50 for different handheld and production workflows.
The cage provides multiple 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 mounting threads with locating points, along with a NATO rail and cold shoe for monitors, microphones, lights, and other accessories. At the bottom, an Arca-type plate supports quick transitions between compatible tripods, gimbals, and other support systems. In addition, the side mounting points make vertical shooting configurations possible while the locating points help prevent mounted accessories from twisting.
For the Canon C50’s original XLR top handle, the kit includes a detachable top plate and XLR Extension Bracket. The extension adds additional mounting options while keeping the original handle supported. Meanwhile, separate HDMI and USB-C cable clamps use thumb screws for quick adjustment and help keep connected cables secure during movement.
The kit also includes a Tilta Xeno Side Handle that can mount to either side of the cage through a 1/4″-20 connection. Its 40mm height adjustment, silicone grip, cold shoe, and additional 1/4″-20 mounting point provide more flexibility for handheld operation. As a result, the TA-T93-A-B gives the Canon C50 a more adaptable rig without requiring a larger baseplate or 15mm rod system.
